I have to admit my attendance at the final round this past weekend was a bit of a last minute decision on my part.  I had originally planned on going to the final OMA round in Illinois, but with all the rain they had during the week that kinda swayed my decision because that place is nasty even when it is dry.

One Crazy Summer
Like the last time I wrote in, I promised it would not be so long till I kept everyone up to speed on my ever changing life and racing.  Well....promises are made to be broken.  I do apologize for my absence, but life continues to be filled with surprises and evolving faster than I care to be reminded.  The last time I wrote, I was embarking to Mexico for my wedding.  It was an amazing week and the wedding was unreal.  My bride was smokin hot and the ceremony was really sweet.  So, now I am officially off the market and looking forward to this next chapter of my life.
After we got home, I was chomping at the bit to get back into my routine and start riding.  My shock was waiting for me when I got home from my "West Coast Dad" Richard at House of Horsepower Suspension.  I had it freshened up while I was away and he gave a sick surprise.  He had it anodized black!  It looks super sick and works amazing.  I got the steed back together and got in a few nights after work throughout the following weeks and in between finishing up the plans for our reception.
Our reception was nice and laid back.  A lot of our friends and family came to celebrate with us and hear all of our stories and check out the pics from our wedding.  I think everyone was jealous! hehe   It was an overwhelming evening trying to talk to everyone and thank them and try not to miss an guests.  Not sure if that happened though?  After the evening was over, Laura and I were just glad that we had survived everything that just took place over the previous 2 weeks.  We were married and time to move forward.  Now we are still working on thank you cards!  The only downfall to any big event.
Lately I have been riding and hitting up some races around the house getting my "mojo" back.  I missed the OMA in Wisconsin last weekend due to some miss-communication and lack of traveling partners.  It is what it is.....I guess.  I did hit up an IXCR race about an hour from the house that same weekend though.  I got to hang out with some good friends of mine from WKC Powersports.  Jim (WKC) has been one of my tried and true friends and sponsors over the years and is always in my corner.  He is always there to help in any way he can.  On this day he served as my gas man.  Since the Mrs. does not like doing it because she says I am mean when I stop!
The course was awesome.  It had everything from open stuff, tight trees, and creek crossings.  I think they bordered on small rivers because they were so deep an wide, but I will let my good buddy Chris Douglas tell you all about them.  Chris and I had an epic race.  I fell in the second corner like a goon and it really lit a fire in me.  I caught back up to him and got around to lead the first lap or 2.  We went back and forth so much I lost track.  We were pushing each other hard all race.  Then it all came to a grinding halt (literally) on the second last lap.  I was leading and just about to make a break for it when I got a bunch of barb wire in my rear wheel.  It was so frustrating trying to get it out.  It was wound around my wheel and somehow made it through my chain guide.  It seemed like it took forever to get it out, which in racing time it really did.  I was just lucky it did not damage anything.  It was disappointing to get second after doing everything right all race.  I tried to make it back up to Chris on the last lap, but I was having a hard time getting around all the lappers and on top of that I was riding way harder than the slippery conditions would allow.  I crashed a few times really hard like a retard.  What can I say, I just wanna win.  It was a good race and Chris rode really good.  We had a good time racing each other.
Then last Wednesday, Chris, his dad Jim, Whitey, and I spent the evening at the WTF compound riding in the course for the WTF ride this past weekend.  It was so fun, and the track was a blast.  The ride this past Sat. was epic.  The temp. was perfect and the turnout was great.  I won't say much more.  I will leave that for Tad and Whitey to talk about.  Although my new riding partner Chris got hurt.  Which sucks really bad, so now he has left me with the duty of winning the KORHS race this weekend.  See if I can't obligue.
My hands are starting to cramp from typing so much, so I will leave my blog just short of a novel.  Big props to my boy Whitey for being consistent and riding hard.  He is leading the points in the IXCR and OMA in the C class.  I am really hoping he gets a title this year.  He has come a long way since I started hanging out with him a few years ago.  Tad has been on it filming and getting things up on the web.  He came over last week and shot some cool stuff.  Till next time......hopefully sooner than later.  Oh, I almost forgot I am going to be a dad!!  Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
